I’m not necessarily a fan of zombie movies set in the past simply because they lose credibility (even though for many zombies themselves come with a lack of credibility), but this trailer for the upcoming Exit Humanity seems pretty impressive.
Set in the times of the Civil War, Exit Humanity tells, according to the plot summary, the story of a “young man’s struggle to survive in the aftermath of a deadly undead outbreak”. So expect to see zombies, two sides amongst which one seems to be even worse than the zombies and overall a pretty exciting movie. I, personally, can’t expect to get my hands on it and check it out.
Dani Baro is an amazing dude. In case you didn’t hear about him, he’s the one that decided to create his own anti-zombie or zombie survival house – he calls it the “anti zombie bunker” – in case something wrong happens. And even if it doesn’t that bunker looks like an amazing place to live in.

His bunker is surrounded by a wall that’s three meters thick and had everything one would need in case a zombie apocalypse comes from ’round the corner: enough water, food and storage space for weapons to last a single human being for 6 months without having to leave the facility once. There’s also a tuned and tweaked truck ready to go bashing through the zombies, an emergency exit area, a yard for cultivating vegetables (and probably raising some animals), maps, radios and even a crematory to burn all those living dead that get too close. In other words, dude’s got everything inside!
I am completely fascinated by this project – Dani’s been working at his anti-zombies bunker for some time now and the project is still unfinished – and I really hope that some day he will manage to get it done. If he manages to bring in some solar power for electricity, I am sure that he’ll be the owner of a real gem, no matter if a zombie apocalypse kicks in.
Check out below some more images of the amazing anti-zombie bunker made by Dani Baro, somewhere near Barcelona, Spain:

What do you think about this anti-zombie house?
I know I for one would be sitting pretty inside, playing all the zombie games I could get my hands on!
Usually, zombie movies mean “low budget” flicks with no real value added to them and that gets even worse for foreign zombie movies. However, I just received a trailer for an upcoming Chinese (or Japanese, can’t say for sure) zombie movie title Zombie 108. And it looks hot like hell!
Here’s the synopsis of the upcoming film: “The nuclear disaster that Japan suffered accidentally alters the genes of the influenza virus. A group of young people get infected and haven’t paid any attention to their illness, until a boy surprisingly bites a girl’s throat in a drunken night out. Their friends start screaming at the gushing blood. After the viral event, the government orders to quarantine the sick and evacuate all residents in the vicinity. But those drunk party people are not aware of this message. Meanwhile, the army and the police join hands to form a SWAT team to enter the quarantined zone. Those survivors suddenly become zombies to attack the living. In no time, the whole city is film with such huge bloodshed. People from all walks of life – including gangsters, policemen, SWAT teams and the civilians – are willing to work together to escape, but they have hidden schemes to compete with and they may even kill each other.” (you gotta love the Engrish, too!)
Unfortunately, no extra information was available about Zombie 108 and the movie is not featured on IMDB, but it sure looks like one hell of a project with a pretty big budget too – so if you find let, let me know where so that I can see it too!
Just recently I found out about The Silent City, an upcoming web series that is going to be released sometime in May / April this year. Although it appears that it’s not completely focused on zombies, but more on storytelling and a post-apocalyptic setting where just one single survivor is left in New York, the upcoming web series also seems to have some zombies in (and more than 1 character) and is completely exciting.
The Silent City raised funds on Kickstarter and is now preparing for launch. It is shortly described as “A new take on the post-apocalyptic road movie, The Silent City explores a world where one wrong turn can mean the extinction of the species.”
What I really liked about this upcoming web series (the first season will have 5 3-minute long episodes) was the explanation the director gave: “We want to show that smart, meaningful, soulful films don’t have to be boring, and that zombie films don’t have to be brainless.” That is very interesting and promising!
And of course, there are not just words to back the upcoming series up! There’s also a teaser trailer for The Silent City available on YouTube and it looks amazing. I am really excited about this project and honestly I can’t wait to see it! Until then, the teaser is all we’ve got:
If you want to keep updated with the latest The Silent City episode, keep an eye on their YouTube channel.
Valentine’s Day is coming and I guess that us, the zombie fans, can only celebrate it with some zombie themed cards for our loved ones – who are hopefully alive and hot trying to eat our braaaaains.
[quads id=1]
Therefore, inspired by the release of some zombie themed Valentine’s Day cards released by the Walking Dead team (see them below), I searched the internet for some more… and I was surprised to see that there are not that many zombie themed Valentine’s Day Cards. But still enough to keep us going this year.
Check out first the Walking Dead Valentine’s Day zombie cards:
And now a few more (and more awesome!) zombie themed Valentine’s Day cards:
What do you think about these zombie themed Valentine’s Day cards? Would you give something like this to your loved one?
Alternatively, you could use the art and editor from Escape Room Z to create your own zombie cards. I’ve written about this printable escape room game here (check it out – I really loved playing it!), but never really touched on its customizability. Using the editor, and all the cute zombie graphics they give you, you could really make some killer cards! (pun totally intended!)
‘Woo! A zombie movie with Colin Farrel!’ – this is what I first thought when I stumbled upon Osombie: The Axis of Evil Dead.
Something was not making sense though and after looking closer at the trailer and the details, I realized that Osombie: The Axis of Evil Dead is not actually starring Colin Farrel, but Corey Sevier, a guy that totally looks like the Colin.
The good thing is that this made me look closer and pay a bit more attention to Osombie: The Axis of Evil Dead and I realized that it looks a lot better than most of your indie and usually crap zombie movies: despite it’s hilarious and kind of stupid premise – Bin Laden is coming back from the dead as a zombie and he has to be killed… again together with his army of zombie terrorists, Osombie seems like a very solid project with good special effects, intense atmosphere and some really good looking zombies. I am surprised.
Hello there, zombie lovers (I know it sounds bad, but I’m also sure you know what I mean). It’s been a short while since the owner of Anything Zombie has changed and I took the blog from Chinaren (the previous owner of the blog, if that’s not clear). Unfortunately, in the process, most of the content here was lost but hopefully that loss will be soon forgotten and replaced with extra, fresh and zombielicious content.
My name is Calin, but for the purposes of this blog I’ve chosen to go for a pen name – an uninspired Zombie Man, that is – and I plan to deliver all the excitement that surrounds the zombie mania as often as possible.
I just had to tweak the blog a little bit – and there’s still a some work to be done, but mainly I can say that everything is working just fine or seems to be working just fine and zombie content will start to find its way here regularly.
As I said in the About page, you should expect to find here anything related to the zombie mania, from personal thoughts to zombie book and movie reviews, news and game spotlighting, plus images that might make you go “Awwww” or give birth to that urge of getting a shotgun and blowing a zombie’s head off.
So thanks for bearing with me and the blog during this ownership change and let’s hope that the future is bright for Anything Zombie!
